Mission Non Stop

It literally takes an act of Congress.

As Military City, USA® we must do everything we can to provide our military community with the resources they need to get the job done. Nonstop flight service between San Antonio International Airport (SAT) and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) will save our military community time spent getting to and from the nation's capital and will save taxpayers money. However, due to antiquated federal regulations that limit which airports can offer nonstop flights to DCA, there is no nonstop flight connecting Military City, USA® to the heart of Washington, DC.

Over the past few months, we have worked alongside our Congressional Delegation, key Senators and other partners to advocate for language in the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018 that would allow for the nonstop flight. Unfortunately, the final version of the bill does not include the proposed language; this issue and others were removed to help ensure consensus on the bill before the deadline of September 30, 2018. We are grateful for the continued support of our the Bexar County Congressional Delegation and community partners as we reevaluate our strategy and identify other options to achieve the nonstop flight.

It's our Mission: SAT to DCA

Airports outside 1,250 miles cannot fly nonstop to DCA without special Congressional authorization, excluding half the country.

Regulations also limit the number of flights that fly into DCA, ignoring market forces and aircraft technology improvements of the last 30 years.
